Welcome to our home. This is my blog, where I show & tell you what we have been doing recently in our daily homeschool life. Stay awhile, enjoy, and watch the leaning come to life!
GEOGRAPHY
This is the page where you will see their progress in GEOGRAPHY. Like I posted in my very first post, "Why I Chose Postcards From Home" in the archives, part of our study of geography will be through writing postcards to other homeschooled children around the world, and receiving postcards from them as well. We have a world map, an Usborne Children's Book World Atlas, and we were offered a free globe that hopefully we will have soon. I plan on hanging the map up on a bulletin board, to put a pin in for each place we receive a postcard from, and we will study what that geographical area is like. When we do SOCIAL STUDIES we will be looking at the map and the globe to see the places we are studying, as well.

We just got a P.O. Box so we can safely give out our address online to trade postcards with other home schoolers all over the world! We will put a pin in our map of where we recieve & send them! We are also starting a new curriculum, Road Trip USA, A Journey across the United States! We will locate each state on our map, use our Usborne World Atlas to locate the state & the capitol using map coordinates, study the history of that state, study the facts for each state (state bird, state flower, tree, animal, gem, etc.), post it in our travel log, stamp our passports, & maybe even fixing a meal from that state. I think they will be very fun ways of learning all of the states!
